What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a Japanese healing practice that channels universal life force energy, the same energy that flows through all living things. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.


The word “Rei” means universal/spirit and “Ki” means life force energy. Together, it means universal life force energy, a powerful yet gentle method for encouraging harmony and well-being on every level.

During a Reiki session, this healing life force energy flows through the practitioner’s hands to the recipient on various parts of your body’s Chakra points or energy centers, helping to release blockages, reduce stress, and restore balance to the body’s natural energy systems.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki supports your body’s natural ability to heal itself. It works on subtle energy levels, often described as the energetic blueprint that underlies our physical, emotional, and mental states.

When your energy is flowing freely, you feel vibrant, peaceful, and connected.

When it’s blocked or depleted (due to stress, trauma, or imbalance), you may feel drained, anxious, or stuck.

A Reiki session helps to:

  • Clear and balance the chakras

  • Release stagnant or heavy energy

  • Promote deep relaxation and clarity

  • Support emotional and spiritual healing

  • Strengthen overall vitality and well-being

  • Each session is a peaceful, nurturing experience. You’ll relax comfortably (fully clothed) on a massage table or in a chair while I gently channel Reiki energy through light touch or from just above the body.
